If there is ever a most underrated anime in the history of anime! This is it guys!

Agissea • 1 year ago

Probably because there is no good guys vs bad guys !

since you got an Empire dominated by nobles (who think nothing of commoners and got all rights over them) who turned to an Empire who fixed aristocracy (kind of, they kept some nobles who could adapt and weren't the worse toward commoners too -mostly because they need their support while fighting nobles's fleet)

Against :
A democratic nation with its leaders corrupt enough to send millions of soldiers to their death just to get reelected... (while they didn't need to, only to reinforce both the fortress and Fezzan Alliance's nearby planets and try to get a ceasefire, each on their own side of the universe)

The democratic nation is supposed to be better (since people vote for their leaders) but because of its leaders (one who got his own militia to kill every people against him), it isn't in fact.

Fezzan: No one would dare invade Fezzan.
Empire: Invades Fezzan
Fezzan: Surprise Pikachu face

Grandpa Lampshade • 1 year ago

My favorite part of this episode was the government worker at central command threatening the Emperial fleet with punishment under law if they don't comply LOL

Agissea • 1 year ago

They will issue a fine to the whole invading fleet^^ and then threathen to jail all of them soldiers xD

Esenpai • 1 year ago

Really beautifully adapted episode. I love the attention to detail shown and it's in an episode like this where the more futuristic concept art this series provides over the original really shines. This is truly a treat for those that know the full brilliance of the original.

Sir Prise • 1 year ago

Sieg Kaiser Reinhard! It's like how far-from-home campaigning Roman generals are hailed Imperator by their soldiers.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

And so does A.Hitler in Nazi Germany ;)

Hoping for the next season in 2023!

the ultimate prize: the universe itself

great episode, love how mittermeyer kept order especially against any one who broke his orders, recently was reading nazi germany and man the inhumane shit they did to women everywhere and most people in general.glad he also tried to not disrupt the lives of people, all that was removed was the head of state and just replaced and everyone just carried on with their usual lives. that red head is a femma fatale and the boy fell for it, the fox won and keeps on living. great season, great ending. see y'all next season

Alliance about to get booty f*cked. cant wait.

Also the dude killed his son and took his woman. Double disrespecc. Guy didnt stop at killing him, also NTR him in the afterlife.

Chrony • 1 year ago

I'm pretty sure the son knew that woman was his fathers'. He just thought she liked him better than his father. Unfortunately, he didn't realize this wasn't the case until the very end. He wanted to take everything from his father, his country, his woman, his power.

Esenpai • 1 year ago

The woman was planted by his father in the first place to keep tabs on him. He's not called the Black Fox of Fezzan for nothing.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Woman wins! Also the brat was just too simpleminded, didn't even have backup plan.

Benz Mezzer • 1 year ago

It's not NTR if the woman already his right ? Rupert is just a pawn in his father hand all along.

Robert • 8 months ago

It’s always NTR (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

it is if the guy didnt know, which he found out right before he died.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

I believe Rupert already knows she is his father's woman but thought she would betray his father for him or thought that since he is going to get everything that is his father why not his woman as well.

From "all hail lelouch" to "sieg kaiser reinhard"

Agissea • 1 year ago

The guy "how did we not know about this until it happened ?"
And then what ? Can you build millions of ships and form millions of soldiers in 1 day ?

Can you order the Alliance to get their fleet inside your territory to counter the Empire's fleet ? (trying to be a 2nd Iserlohn fortress)

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

Surprising how quickly the Fezzan people just rollover and accepted their defeat and moved on with their lives. If Iraq and Afghanistan has taught us, it doesn't matter how well you treat the conquered there will still be pockets of resistance for a long time.

Sir Prise • 1 year ago

They are nominally an Imperial territory anyway. Besides, the occupation was non-violent and rapid. As long as their daily lives were not disturbed, there is no reason to resist.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

Those Fezzan troops at their HQ disagree on the non-violent part. Rumsfeld thought the Iraqis would throw flowers at American troops because they would be so grateful to be freed from Saddam. How did that turn out? The whole nominally an Imperial territory anyways is what Russia's justification for their war in Ukraine now.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

3rd dimension is missing, Russia military was anything but smart, they could move ground forces from above, instead of pushing the border. They lost the momentum, using Guerrilla tactics. Which of-course ended up in uprising.

Also they attacked multiple cities. where they should have gone for just capital.

I dunno what idiot proposed that special operation as Plan. But it was constructed by someone doing a war on paper. Who never won any RTS.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

It didn't help that the Russians had poorly maintained armaments and badly trained troops. All these talk about how advance Russian weapon was turned out to be a bluff. Doesn't matter how good your tanks look on paper if you can't even maintain them, supply ammo for them or have a properly trained crew to driving the them.

Reemus • 1 year ago

Two clear differences are the lack of religious fundamentalism - Fezzani can continue living their lives without having their fundamental values endangered. With this sort of benevolent occupation (roughly, very roughly akin to those the Allies had in Germany and Japan after WWII), it is possible to have a favourable civilian disposition. To them, it's a coup d'etat, not a revolution or invasion.

The second one is the lack of historical and cultural animosity towards the other, which is, on the contrary, ingrained in the Arabic peoples' mentality. They hate the "collective West" and the U.S., indoctrinated to hate and will keep hating for decades to come, at least.

Nothing like that is evidently present between Fezanni and the Empire. Fezanni is primarily a union of economically strong planets, a mega-corporation. Only the management has changed, the working contract everyone had is still observed. They have no reason to revolt as a nation as they had no national identity or politics (besides the Earth cultists in the shadows) to begin with. Naturally, your comparison between Empire's invasion and Russian invasion is nonsense.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

Actually the occupation of Germany and Japan wasn't as smooth as we were told. Pockets of resistance again the Allied occupation continued for years after WWII. In Japan, the benevolent occupation wasn't actually true. It was much harsher than what was portrayed. It wasn't until years later after the occupation did the Japanese got their rights back to living their normal lives. Even after the Japanese got their rights back, a large portion of the Japanese culture, specifically Shinto teachings, were modified so future Japanese aggression wouldn't occur. We can also blame the Americans why Japan still censor JAV to this day.

The Fezanni people do have a national identity of being neutral so your argument is incorrect and the comparison of the current Russian invasion of Ukraine to what the Empire is not nonsense. One of the reasons that Russia invaded Crimea and Ukraine is because a large portion of the population there are ethnically Russian.

What we saw in this episode of the peaceful transition from Fezann to the Empire may work in theory but has shown over and over again to not work in practice.

Sir Prise • 1 year ago

Not... really? Fezzan IS Imperial territory, but treaties and such made it de facto independent, kinda like the British Commonwealth territories today, they recognize the British King, but governs themselves. Whereas Ukraine is an independent state since the fall of the Iron Curtain and does not answer, not even de jure, to Moscow.

And yeah forgot the shooting bit, but I meant that civilians did not see the violence themselves (aside from that rape victim) and so they are more susceptible to the administrative change.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

What we saw in this episode will work in political theory but unfortunately never in practice.

Sir Prise • 1 year ago

Maybe unlikely but don't say never. Sometimes real life is weirder than fiction.

Robert • 8 months ago

Lol, my guy if you actually were alive at the time of the Iraq invasion that is exactly what happened. Things only got nasty after Saddam was captured and during the occupation with the various factions fighting each other and US/Coalition troops.

icy • 1 year ago

Damn the finale was good. I hope they start the new season with the battle of vermilion

A quote from a book I read. It stuck with well with me. Let us see the FPA can make a comeback.
